Members join for a wide variety of reasons. They may include gaining knowledge of the political process and meeting elected officials and candidates. Or to participate in special events such as group concealed carry classes and marksmanship training or to meet like-minded women. Members may join us because they are interested in running for office, while others like the special events and community outreach we offer. Some members enjoy taking on a leadership role or participating in a committee of particular interest to them. And some members want the experience our membership provides to build their leadership skills and resumes. We encourage you to join us for a meeting to see how our organization aligns with your needs and expectations. Email republicanwomenlax@gmail.com to reserve a guest spot at our next meeting or event.
Americanism:
The NFRW Americanism program promotes respect for the American Flag and fosters allegiance to the United States and its customs and institutions.
Republican women’s clubs help carry out this mission in their local communities. Examples include:
Literacy:
With our commitment to literacy, we have adopted education as one of our primary issues focuses. Our goal is to improve public education and literacy by advocating grassroots support for education reform and taking direct action to improve literacy. We use our network of members to promote high standards, accountability, flexibility, local control of schools, and early reading initiatives. It may be an essay contest, donating books to schools and libraries. Each club chooses the best way for its club to help with literacy.
Armed Services:
The NFRW has a long-standing commitment to our military and to our veterans.
Our honor and duty are to support those who have put their lives on the line to preserve the freedoms we as Americans often take for granted. We can never thank them or their families enough or show them too much gratitude for their service and sacrifice.
Caring For America: The National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) established the Caring for America program in 1999 to encourage state federations and clubs to actively participate in at least one community service program. Caring for America is based on the belief that problems can be solved most effectively through the generosity and combined energies of individual citizens.
Leadership:
One of the NFRW’s primary objectives is to empower women in the political process by providing a forum for women to serve as leaders in the political, government, and civic arenas.
To achieve this objective, the NFRW promotes a robust Leadership Development program that offers resources, materials, workshops, and other training and mentoring opportunities to state and club leaders, as well as to the general membership.
Good question. Your commitment is entirely up to you.
You may want to be informed or maybe socialize with like-minded women. Or, you may be interested in running for office or have a skill you want to share and be more involved. Whatever is best for you is OK.
We understand that everyone has their reason for joining.
Our commitment to provide a variety of resources, events, and information does depend on volunteers. For example, we may ask for volunteers to help set up an event, check in registered guests or welcome guests to an event.
Members interested in more involvement may want to sit on a committee or chair a committee. Committee chairs and elected officers do serve on the Executive Committee.
No matter your interest level, you can be assured that a support system is in place for everyone to get the most out of their membership.
RWLC recently sponsored Dr. Duke Pesta, Director of the Freedom Project Academy and one of America's foremost authorities on Critical Race Theory, Common Core and what is currently being offered to our children in reading and sex education. Having testified in 22 states on education, Dr. Pesta is a tenured Professor of English at the University of Oshkosh. His podcasts have over 50M views and he continues to educate parents and taxpayers on what is happening in our public education system.
We may not all have children in the education system; however, we may be an aunt or uncle or grandparent. We know our public education system is failing. Our children are not reading and doing math at grade level. Our children don't know and understand our history.
We believe that as individuals, one of the most important votes a voter can make is casting a vote for your local school board and your state Department of Education.
Today, our children are being taught things that most parents believe are not age-appropriate. For example are you fully aware of what type of sex education is being taught and at what grade level? In many school districts, children may be forced to wear masksthat may cause long-term mental or medical issues.
Our members are united in a variety of ways. For example, in many school districts, we will vet candidates for upcoming school board elections. We will keep you informed on school board meetings and decisions. If necessary, we will address school boards about the current or potential curriculum.
We are the greatest country on Earth, and we should have the greatest public education. That is our goal, our commitment.
